mt2.62 disaster :-P

well, i spoke too soon *sigh*

the mt2.62 upgrade apparently caused a lot of choking and sputtering on our host's servers and we were "disabled" or something... totally understandable... but what an awful pain i had when i tried to go backwards to 2.51 again... two days later all is well (finally!!)... i never did figure out how to restore my old site even though i think i backed it up right... whatever... i'm blogging again (fwiw) and that makes me happy :-)

katy and the big snow

snow has been falling for more than 24 hours! i am enjoying this beautiful site SO much! our doors to the outside world are entrapped by seals of ice that will have to be broken.

snow is falling

snow snoW snOW sNOW SNOW! i don't think i have ever seen so much white stuff fall from the sky. i went outside to clear off the back porch a couple times and it was as if someone was dumping a box of snow flakes over me... i mean that's how hard and fast it was coming in. poor abby was overcome with fear and trembling when i booted her out to do her potty dance. poor little red dog... it's been a rough couple of days for her. :-(

mt upgrade to 2.6

mt is swell! upgraded to 2.6 without a hitch!
warm bed awaits... peaceful sleep much anticipated and greatly needed
g'night!

God please protect us

so what does she do?!

never mind the disaster prep... she prays for peace then takes herself and her middle daughter closer to ground zero and just at the edge of national's runway to their favorite movie theater to see one "last" showing of lotr:two towers on the big screen

what do they say about denial? it's a long river in egypt?

still no duct tape

preparing for scary possiblities

i think i am more anxious about being woefully unprepared for potential disasters than i am about those potential disasters actually happening.

i pray that current world threats and tensions are settle peacefully.

and after i pray i'll head out to wally world for duct tape, plastic sheeting, batteries, and bottled water. oh, and a good portable radio. i'm trying to decide which room in my tiny townhouse could be our designated "safe room" in the event of a chemical or other threat... which is not a too outlandish possibility given our location... God protect us.

there was a time that living here would have brought some comfort and feelings of protection but not so since september 11th. my heart will always be in virginia, but indiana is sounding real tempting right now. ;-)

Hope in God

Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation

Psalm 42:5 {ESV}

snow day!

woohoo! watching the snow fall all through the night was a cozy comfort after my nerve-wracking drive home through the stuff last night after band practice. oogie! having a fresh viewing of "misery" in my mind didn't help matters. :-\

but i arrived home safe and sound and, in spite of the stressful drive, i did enjoy the sight of flying snow along the way. the snowfall was so beautiful last night in the dark... so quiet and lovely. aaah...

abby is a site today... dwarfed by snowdrifts... trouncing around looking for a potty spot... of course, it doesn't take much snow to dwarf a mini dachsie like abby. ;-)

live the difference

i spent 36 (sleepless!) hours with 10,000 teenagers at "acquire the fire" last weekend. i still haven't recovered from sleep deprivation. can we say "old fart"? ;-)

ron luce et al delivered radical admonishments, encouragements and challenges... all of which were as applicable to this 40-something as to the young people targeted.

things that stuck with me...
live the difference
(more later... i need a nap NOW!)
every decision matters
the first romance was between adam and God
people are dying of hunger (spiritual and physical)
my butt fit in stadium seating much better at a 1977 Led Zeppelin concert than a 2003 NewsBoys concert ;-)
