i was anticipating the ninja yumminess of a spinach feta omelet this morning, indulging my semi-annual egg craving. i chopped, crumbled, cracked, and swirled and finally poured the amazing goop into a sizzling pan... oh the aroma... believe me when i say you WISH you were here. or not. hmmm... that one spinach leaf sure looks black, but that's okay, i'm sure it's fine. well, maybe i should just pick it out and... huh?! eeeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwww! a DRAGonfly wing! blechhhhhhhh!
i guess i can be grateful it wasn't a finger. :-P

it's no secret that i stand in front of my espresso machine every morning steaming milk and pulling shots of yummy espresso. the milk-frothing part of the process does get a bit tedious and at times the schwshwshwshghshghshgh of high-powered steam being forced into milk puts me into somewhat of a trance. this particular morning i began pondering the mysteries of... well... spontaneous human combustion. don't know why that entered my mind, but it did. i was having quite a brilliant conversation with myself until i suddenly "woke up" from my thoughts just in time to catch my milk at a perfect 160 degrees, then went about the task at hand... creating a perfect latte.
mugs in hands (yes i'm a double-fisted drinker), i settled down at my computer and started downloading my email. it was the usual fare, except for a sporadic newsletter from HowStuffWorks.com. what?! i had to laugh at the subject header...
"How Spontaneous Human Combustion Works". an odd coincidence? divine 411 appointment? i know not. interesting, nonetheless. to me, anyway. just thinkin' out loud. (yes, i know i'm a raging bore, but this is MY blog and i can talk about whatever i want!!!)
i am, for the first time this year, mumbling here. what was at first an enjoyable endeavour (sharing my thoughts in this particular blog) somehow lost its glimmer. thus the past year of very few entries and more time spent styling, hacking and tweaking other blogs. and isn't this fine fodder for a new blog entry?... waxing philosophical about why one hasn't been blogging. ugh. note to self: quit groveling. put some spice in your life. and blog it. ;-)
more in a minute... espresso is calling!
