Overheard in an Art Store

Employee #1: Hey, how many inches in a foot?

Employee #2: 24.

Employee #1: Are you sure?

Employee #2: No, um... 36... I think.

Employee #1: I thought 36 inches was a yard.

Employee #2: Um... yeah, I think you're right... there's 24 inches in a foot.

Employee #1: OK... thanks! (returns to poor unsuspecting customer on phone)

Did you notice that *12* inches was never mentioned? Holy Moly! I was dumbfounded (but not as DUMB as THEM) as I watched and listened to these two twenty-somethings discuss how many inches was in a foot. YES, I know it would have been merciful of me to intervene and correct them both... at the moment I was speechless... what can I say?
