QotD: I Was The Sous Chef

Who taught you how to cook?

Dinner's Ready!

My mother taught me... I first remember cooking when I was in kindergarten... scrambled eggs. I was the oldest of four sisters and we were all taught the art of cooking and were expected to assist as needed. By the time we were in middle school, my sisters and I were each responsible for making dinner once a week or so. Being a self-centered young person, I really hated that. Thankfully, my crappy attitudes didn't deter my parents from making me do it anyway!!

Ha! My family was like that too, we were all (well, my sister and me. my brother must have been considered either gender-exempt or just not a good cook, hee) expected to help out with cooking. I hated it cuz back then I was terrible at getting things cooked on time. One thing would be done while something else still had to bake for half an hour. Hm, come to think of it? I still do that. :)
