So the current has swept my blog and me to the land of espresso and epiphanies for now... that could change again, but for now I'm settled here at espressoepiphany.com. I want a place where I can say "whatever" (gosh!), so I pulled up stakes in my former home and am enjoying my cozy new digs here.

This is what one wacky homegurl does when her mom's been spending too much time on the computer and not enough time seeing to a "real" education. watch this (right click and "save as" to download or single-click to stream). Note the objects of this live-action presentation are my ever-present computer pals. What a sneaky gurl. ;)
i took the girlies on a bit of an adventure to "almost" dc. we walked, talked, watched planes and very quietly enjoyed a perfect april day at gravelly point. we left home a little late to include a walk through the cherry blossoms across the river, but we're hoping to do that real soon. the second part of our outing was more somber - heartwrenching is more accurate. (see Pixelicious v2.1 for details) the weather was comforting and fitting for a reflective state of heart. we were glad we spent our day quietly "being".
it's no secret that i stand in front of my espresso machine every morning steaming milk and pulling shots of yummy espresso. the milk-frothing part of the process does get a bit tedious and at times the schwshwshwshghshghshgh of high-powered steam being forced into milk puts me into somewhat of a trance. this particular morning i began pondering the mysteries of... well... spontaneous human combustion. don't know why that entered my mind, but it did. i was having quite a brilliant conversation with myself until i suddenly "woke up" from my thoughts just in time to catch my milk at a perfect 160 degrees, then went about the task at hand... creating a perfect latte.
mugs in hands (yes i'm a double-fisted drinker), i settled down at my computer and started downloading my email. it was the usual fare, except for a sporadic newsletter from HowStuffWorks.com. what?! i had to laugh at the subject header...
"How Spontaneous Human Combustion Works". an odd coincidence? divine 411 appointment? i know not. interesting, nonetheless. to me, anyway. just thinkin' out loud. (yes, i know i'm a raging bore, but this is MY blog and i can talk about whatever i want!!!)
i am, for the first time this year, mumbling here. what was at first an enjoyable endeavour (sharing my thoughts in this particular blog) somehow lost its glimmer. thus the past year of very few entries and more time spent styling, hacking and tweaking other blogs. and isn't this fine fodder for a new blog entry?... waxing philosophical about why one hasn't been blogging. ugh. note to self: quit groveling. put some spice in your life. and blog it. ;-)
more in a minute... espresso is calling!
you're weirdos, but thanks... i'll take your flattery!
the other day i received not one, but TWO tokens of BUX affection in the mail.
first was a decent sized sample of this years anniversary blend (one of my faves). i passed it on to billy since i only use espresso roast now (no more drip coffee for me!). my other prize was a coupon for a "delightfully indulgent nutrition bar"... a complimentary Penza, whose nutrition likely exists more in the plastic wrapping than in the bar itself (and which would certainly explain the "low net carbs" claim).
in other (not so delightful) starbucks news, i found out that i inadvertantly sabotaged myself when i signed up for the "free $10 reload" promotion. i read all the rules, i signed up correctly, bought this, registered that, BUT i later switched my starbucks card reload plan to a mastercard rather than the visa that the promotion called for. brain fart, mommy dementia, whatever you want to call it... i blew it. i called to inquire as to why, after the required "40 days" and 40 nights on the reload program, i had not yet received my free $10 reload and was informed of my disqualifying error. poo!! i think i'm going to quit drinking coffee. :-\
