Six Apart have outdone themselves with their latest Movable Type releases. Movable Type 4.2 and Movable Type Pro 4.2 are rockin'! MT4.2 is open source and suggested for dev types. I fully expected to use MT 4.2 until 6A surprised us all with the release of MTPro 4.2 free to bloggers (as opposed to license fees for commercial bloggers). MTPro 4.2 is built on the open source version and includes the Pro Pack and Community Pack which, in 4.0.x-1x were only available as paid packages intended for commercial customers. More later...

I don't know why I struggle so much with anxiety over special events. I spent two or three weeks leading up to Spencer's bridal shower in a state of perpetual nausea. By Tuesday I was doing much better... it's looking like a pattern now... when I can no longer live in denial and have to start taking action I get "in the zone" and feel some relief. The nausea turns to "butterflies" and I am surrendered to what lies ahead. Good grief, you would think I was headed for the 16th century Tower of London. But, NO!, it was my dear daughter's bridal shower! Note to Kate: Get Over Thyself!!!!

As one would expect, it was the sweetest time of fellowship and loving care for Spencer in honor of her and John's forthcoming wedding. We intentionally planned the evening without the traditional games and such in order to allow more time for conversation and fellowship. One of the beauties of this gathering was the multi-generational makeup of the guests. There were quite a few mothers and daughters and among them were families who had been friends for 20+ years... women who were friends as singles and who had shared in each others weddings and births through the years. Many of the young women had grown up together from infancy. How wonderful to watch the torch of this next season of life passing to this younger generation. It was very dear to me as I anticipated the evening and then watched it unfold. Sweet. :-)

Spencer and John were exceedingly and abundantly blessed by the generosity of friends and family. They have a wonderful start for building their home together and I expect we will all be enjoying the fruits of their gifts for years to come. Um, and by fruits I do mean COOKIES, Spencer!!! Bring 'em on! ;-)

It is of great spiritual benefit to remember the hopeless condition in which we were and would yet be without salvation by grace alone through Jesus Christ.
